DESCRIPTION:
Soluble powder to be administered in drinking water or in the food for calves, goats, poultry, sheep and pigs.
INDICATIONS:
Rheincolimox is an amoxicillin-powder colistin based, wide spectrum antibiotic with bactericidal effect and that cause a bacteriolytic effect due to the combined action of the inhibition of the cellular wall and the tensioactive effect at the level of the bacterial cell membrane.
The amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic type of penicillin with broad spectrum, bactericidal and of quick absorption. Its scope of action is very wide and it comprises both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Colistin is a bactericidal antibiotic, which can be specifically used against toxin-producer Gram negative bacteria. Its action spectrum is basically aimed against Gram-negative microorganisms, with a special focus placed upon Escherichia coli andSalmonella.
Indicated for the treatment of pneumonias, arthritis, bacteria caused diarrhea, Onphalitis /umbilicus disease and onphaloflebitis in calves, foals, lambs, poultry, goats and sucklings. The product is prescribed for some cases of mastitis in cattle and other infectious processes caused by microorganisms which are sensitive to formula in all species.
Cattle: Bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, cutaneous abscesses, metritis and pneumonia.
Pigs: Bronchopneumonia, colibacillosis, bacterial enteritis, MMA and atrophic rhinitis.
Sheep and Goats: Bronchopneumonia, bacterial enteritis, colibacillosis, metritis and pneumonia.
Also prescribed for the treatment of pasteurellosis, salmonellosis and streptococcal infections
DOSAGE AND USE :
Dosage: 400 grams of product to provide treatment for 10,000 kg weight/volume. This is applicable to 20 mg/kg weight/volume of amoxicillin and 4 mg/kg w/v of colistin.
The treatment is continuous during 3 to 5 days.
Ask your veterinarian to adjust the dosage according to the specific needs of the case and to the particular consumptions of each one of the species.
Species: Bovines, goats, poultry, ovines and porcines
WARNINGS:
Keep this and all other medication out of the reach of children.
People experiencing allergic reactions to products of the beta-lactamase group must not come into contact with the product.
Avoid inhalation of product.
In the event of direct contact with product, wash exposed skin, eyes and mucous membranes with abundant water.
The simultaneous administration of bacteriostatic antibiotics must be avoided due to the possibility of antagonism:
The product should not be administered together or in combination with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides, nor in affections caused by beta-lactamase producing germs.
Hypersensitivity to penicillin and / or colistin
Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs or hamsters.
Administration to animals with severe renal diseases.
Keep in its original package and container in a cool dry place at a temperature between 10º C and 25º C.
Avoid direct sunlight on product.
Open product containers must be used within 12 (twelve) months if stored in a dry place.
Solutions prepared with this product must be used within 8 hours.
Once mixed with food, the product is stable during 7 (seven) days.
Use restrictions :
In the case of poultry, five (5) days must pass between the last treatment and the slaughter of the animal whose meat is going to be destined for human consumption.
In the case of pigs, retire medication 15 days before slaughter.
Product should not be used together with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.
Do not use in laying hens whose eggs are going to be destined for human consumption.
